Hot Chocolate Calculator

What's the deal?
This is the only simple way to make hot chocolate. Stop buying Swiss Miss.

So, how do you make it?
Heat the milk to about 140 °F, then add the other ingredients and bring it back up to 140 °F.

What if I want to make a certain amount, like a gallon or a liter?
Set the unit from the Total dropdown, and enter the amount you want to make. It'll calculate.

Okay, so I'm supposed to use cocoa. You mean the stuff in the little packet with dehydrated marshmallows in it?
No, I mean cocoa powder, not hot chocolate mix.

So, I just made some, but it's not great.
Yeah, that's because you used bad cocoa powder. Get something dutched like Cacao Barry Extra Brute or Callebaut or Droste.

What else can I do?
I usually put some vanilla and salt in there, too, but I never measure it. Just a pinch of salt. You could also replace some of the sugar with marshmallow fluff. Also cream if you want more fat in there.
